PICT's Free Eye Check-Up Camp at Paradip

Paradip, December 20, 2024 — A comprehensive eye check-up camp was organized at the Paradip International Cargo Terminal (PICT) today in collaboration with the renowned Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital. The initiative aimed to promote eye health and create awareness among the terminal’s workforce and the local community.

The camp was inaugurated by the Terminal Head, Mr. Rajesh Nayak, who emphasized the importance of regular eye check-ups for maintaining overall health and ensuring workplace safety. Speaking at the event, Mr. Nayak said, “At PICT, we are committed to the well-being of our employees and the community we serve. This camp is a step towards fostering a healthier work environment and addressing potential vision-related issues early on.”

The eye check-up camp saw active participation from terminal staff, dock workers, and members of the surrounding community. A team of expert ophthalmologists and support staff from Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital conducted detailed eye examinations, which included vision tests, screenings for cataracts, glaucoma, and other common eye conditions. Free consultation and advice were also provided to all attendees.

Mr. Sanjay Mishra, a worker at the terminal who attended the camp, expressed his gratitude, saying, “This is a wonderful initiative. Many of us often neglect eye care due to our busy schedules. Such camps help us stay informed about our eye health and take necessary precautions.”

In addition to eye check-ups, the camp also distributed informational pamphlets on maintaining good eye health, tips for workplace eye safety, and the importance of protective eyewear.

Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, a pioneer in eye care, has been a trusted name in the field for decades. Their collaboration with PICT for this camp underscores their commitment to extending quality healthcare services to communities beyond their hospital premises.

The event concluded on a positive note, with over 200 individuals benefitting from the free eye screenings and consultations. PICT plans to organize similar health camps in the future to address other aspects of employee and community health.
